The Applied Mathematics Laboratory (LAMAP) is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to the study and application of foam in enhanced oil recovery, with an emphasis on the Brazilian pre-salt.
Within this innovative project, we apply fundamental knowledge related to differential equations, fluid dynamics, computer graphics and scientific computing, as well as optimization techniques. LAMAP establishes partnerships with various chemistry laboratories, which allows us to access relevant experimental data. Additionally, we maintain constant communication with Shell and Petrobras, sharing valuable information.
Starting in August 2023, LAMAP will be offering research scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in getting involved in this exciting field of study.
